Along the Caldera of the ancient volcano Tengger, the men race home across the Tengger Sand Sea. After a busy day the horses carry their riders home at sunset ready to repeat it all again the next day.

My family and I were in a rural part of Indonesia (Pulau Cinta) where we got to see the Milky Way above the ocean. The night before a massive storm had shaken these huts and scared away the clouds. This picture was taken in the quietest part of the night where the only sounds were of the insects and the ocean below our feet. The world can be a big and scary place and we can often feel very isolated, especially in the last year. These pictures help put everything into perspective, it gives me hope that we are not as alone as we sometimes believe.
